Wear clothes that will make it easy to access the area you're getting tattooed.
For example, if you’re getting your back tattooed, it’s great to bring a button down or a zip up hoodie that you can wear backwards.
Be aware that ink can get on your clothes, so be sure not to wear something you care about.

Tipping is customary but not required.
20% is common practice for a positive experience. Some clients tip at the end of each session and some wait until the final session for large scale pieces.

My studio is less than a 5 min walk from the Morgan L train (use the Bogart exit when you get off the train).
If you choose to drive, you can typically find street parking within a few blocks. However, this is not guaranteed, so I recommend giving yourself an extra 20 mins to park and walk, just in case.

A few suggestions for managing pain include:
A great way to manage the intensity of getting tattooed is to focus on your breathing and stay still. Long, slow exhalations really do help.
Anything that you can do to get yourself into a calm state will set you up for success. If meditating or exercising beforehand works, be sure to do that.
Feel free to bring fidget toys or squeeze balls or any other small item that helps you relax. I have some at the studio too - just ask!
If listening to a podcast of calming music in your headphones relaxes you, that’s welcome too.
As far as pain medication goes, Tylenol is the safest option. Be sure to avoid blood-thinners, as that can impact the ability to get tattooed as well as the healing.
